No update doesn’t mean no progress

I know that I haven’t been posting to this blog more often, but it doesn’t mean I’m writing less. In fact I think I’m writing even more than before, because I’ve started to keep an offline journal of sorts.

It feels liberating to write for yourself, to not have to worry about it getting published and being read and getting opinions from other people. When I stopped being concerned about what was appropriate for the public to know, the words just kept flowing out of me. At the end of the day, that’s what writing is for me: finding a way to get my thoughts out of my system.

It’s just like having a shrink, minus the professional fees. What everyone needs is someone who will listen. Even if it’s not going to have an opinion or talk back to you.
